I am a traditional Hatton Garden craftsman jeweller and make by hand bespoke fine jewellery, working in 18 carat gold and platinum and supplying the fine quality diamonds, precious or semi-precious stones that will enhance the design of your choice.

There you have three highly specialised trades involved plus the piece has been officially authenticated by the London Assay Office.

I am what is called a "diamond mounter" - an old description which actually provides me with other skills such as the ability to repair and remodel practically all items of gold, platinum or silver.   

I offer a unique and personal service – handmade jewellery to your own design using precious stones of any colour, shape or size, gold or platinum.  I am happy to discuss my customers’ own ideas and offer advice.  The most rewarding aspect is seeing the final piece of jewellery, set, polished and hallmarked – which started in my hands probably as just a piece of gold square wire.

The merits of each stone, whether a diamond or coloured will be explained - the size, colour and clarity in relation to the cost.  And there are many shapes to choose from, including hearts and ovals as well as the traditional brilliant, square and emerald cuts, marquise and princess - to name a just a few.

There is nothing I like more than helping a young couple choose one of the most important purchases they will ever make.  Something of beauty and value to be treasured always.  So what can be better than having your engagement ring  hand made especially for you?

Perhaps the most important reason for you to visit me is that you will know that whatever you buy – that very special gift, memento or emblem of love – will be value for money.  No wholesaler or retailer involved – just me, the setter, the polisher and London’s Assay Office for the hallmark.  

Using a little imagination and creativity I can provide a hallmarked silver memento of an important occasion, safety award, business or trade event.  Usually such items are made in miniature and include and engraved logo, date and message.  I have supplied the mementoes for construction and rail events, road signs, hard hats, trowels, spades, station signs etc.  Skate boards or beer pumps - there is no end to the possibilities!

It is sad to see age-old jewellers’ crafts disappearing and my customers appreciate my ability to repair or remodel family heirlooms and to supply matching stones where they have been lost or broken. If there is existing engraving or a hallmark, I will do my best to retain this.  Your pearl necklace will have a new lease of life when it has been professionally restrung and I can provide a new pearl, gold or diamond clasp.

Chains, silver wear and branded watches are supplied to order - and I have a truly gifted watch and clock repairer on hand too.  

Birthday – perhaps a little something with your birthstone

Christmas – capture the seasonal red and green with rubies or emeralds set in earrings or a pendant.

Wedding – rings for the bride and groom in white or yellow gold or platinum; classic or a design to complement the engagement ring

Eternity – ideal as an anniversary gift.  The circle of life in diamonds, coloured stones or both

Step One - I will fashion the gold into, for instance, what will become an engagement ring.

Step Two - the ring will be inspected by the Assay Office and appropriately hallmarked. See hallmark chart

Step Three - the ring is passed to the "setter" who will as his name suggests, set the chosen precious stones into the ring that I have fashioned.

Step Four - the ring is polished.  This is also a skilled profession in the jewellery trade.
